Wayne Newton, noted Republican King Maker, has cast his mighty spell in the direction of . . . wait for it . . . Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

Newton, who doesn’t like or support President Obama, went on Fox News to back Reid, saying “”Anybody would be deaf, dumb, and blind to think that the second most powerful man in our nation, in terms of politics, should be replaced with someone else. Strategic Brillance

Have you heard the fable about the baby bunny who crosses the road to see his mommy and gets hit by a truck? Probably not, because I just made it up. (Look for my new book of nursery rhymes “Rub Some Dirt on It Kid – Lessons for the 21st Century” by Schmitty Christian Andersen.)

The point of the soon to be classic tale is that people often do stuff that is counterproductive to their end goal. Or they’re stupid, hard to tell. We’re seeing some prime examples of both in this primary election season.

Teabaggers wanted to shake things up and got their wish in nominating Rand Paul for the Senate in Kentucky. He of the Texas Crazy Pauls. He promptly showed that he is borderline unelectable after spewing forth on his problem with the Civil Rights Act and feeling that we were being too hard on BP. (more…)
