Brock Landers

Can a brother get a “Boogie Nights” reference to start the day? Yes you can fine sir. Yes You Can.

DirtyScottsdale.com’s founder is claiming GOP Congressional candidate Ben Quayle was a founding contributor to the site, documenting his quest to find the “hottest chick in Scottsdale” under the alias Brock Landers. Brock Landers is porn star character from the movie “Boogie Nights.”

Really, he chose Brock Landers as an alias? Were “The Schlongmeister” and “Python Pants” taken? (more…)

Sunday Stuff – August 8

Is There a Conservative Case for Same-Sex Marriage? – by D.R. Tucker

I was not in favor of the effort to have the courts invalidate Proposition 8. I felt that the integrity of the ballot initiative process in California should not be compromised, even if it meant maintaining a policy that some might not like.

Yet I always heard Liebman’s voice asking why I was not in favor of justice for same-sex couples, why I couldn’t see that Prop. 8 was a blatant violation of the Equal Protection Clause. Liebman’s voice asked if I even cared about basic human dignity, basic human rights, basic human fairness.

I did not know how to answer.

A Grand Unified Theory of Palinisms -by Jacob Weisberg

So far as I can tell, Sarah Palin has four core beliefs:
1. Things go better with God.
2. Yay, Alaska!
3. Let’s drill that sucker.
4. Curse you, political establishment.

O’Reilly v Palin – Round 2

Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly again takes on the mindless blather of Sarah Palin in this clip. This time the issue is immigration. You can read about the “tiff” here.

You might remember O’Reilly questioning Palin’s logic on the Gulf Oil Spill a few weeks ago. (See it again here.)

My favorite part of this whole thing is the response from Palin supporters who claim that O’Reilly is asking “gotcha questions”. Since when are “how?” and “why?” gotcha questions? She’s not a 4-year-old who spilled some juice.

O’Reilly Seeing the Light

From News Hounds

Sarah Palin may have thought she was going to dazzle Fox News viewers with her grasp of energy policy – which she had undoubtedly just boned up on thanks to her team of tutors – and she obviously hoped to use that “know how” to undermine President Obama in the wake of his prime time address on the BP oil spill last night (6/15/10). Fox News was, apparently, banking on Palin, too. They booked her as the first guest on The O’Reilly Factor immediately following Obama. There was just one itsy bitsy problem: O’Reilly repeatedly challenged her assertions and then demolished her credibility altogether by asking what she would do to stop the leak. Not only couldn’t Palin answer the question, she also made the ridiculous statement that Norwegians are experts at dikes.

His election was the first shot in the Tea Party Revolution. But Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown (R) is turning out to be – gasp! – a moderate!

Ummm, yeah. Kind of.

Read the dirty details here! Somewhere, Phylis Schlafly is clubbing a baby seal in heaven, probably with a depleted uranium rod.

Brown even gets what must be regarded as the “Kiss of Death Quote” from Charles Schumer!

Senator Charles E. Schumer, Democrat of New York, said he and his staff were recently invited to a Friday afternoon “happy hour” on the terrace of Mr. Brown’s office.

“If you had to pick from a handful of Republicans who you can work with and who will be predisposed to do something together,” Mr. Schumer said. “He is one of them.” (more…)

Sunday Stuff May 30

Some interesting stuff for your Sunday. Enjoy.

Joe McGinniss talks about why he moved in next to Sarah Palin

McGinniss said he was offended by the way Palin described his presence next door. Contrary to what Palin said in her Facebook post, he can’t see into the windows of the home and he can’t hear their conversations. While Palin intimated that McGinniss could watch the family when it went swimming, he said that only the edge of their land near the lake was visible from his property.
“These little kids, I couldn’t care less about them,” said McGinniss. “I have my own kids and grandkids to care about. I don’t have any interest in Palin’s kids. I’m not going to write, oh, I saw Trig run across the lawn, and I saw someone else change his diaper. I haven’t been writing for 40 years to wind up on that level. I’m just very offended by this.”.
